Ryley Won the 2011 Cub Scout Space Derby!

Our expectations when we started the evening were average. We had a three rubber band engine, which we ended up replacing 4 times (once all three rubber bands all broke!)

This year, Ryley did the majority of carving and painting himself. I thought he might win "best in show," but it was not meant to be...

He was however meant to win 1st place overall! Yes...he had the fastest ship there! See how excited he was? His eyes are sparkling!

Number one with a bullet! Now to the video tape!

Everytime they announced "number 5" as the winner, I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it!

Luckily there was super glue, new rubber bands and another chance to win...

Dog Days

It's been 1 year since Bones came to live with us!

Our Christmas dog continues to please.

Bones sizes up the competition in the dog park. We declined due to size and possible muddiness (it was raining pretty good). But in the end he needed a bath anyway.

A tunnel gives a brief break from the rain. And a cool echo.

Bones gets wrapped up in a sweatshirt for the ride home, he was shivering.

The park area was really pretty, and had remnants of the old mining operation. This tunnel had a great echo to it.

a christmas card Jo wrote to us. It says, "Dear Mom and Dad I love you very much Susun I hope you get a new bick tire and Dad I hope you get owt of work erle." such a sweet daughter she is.
